Summary[]
As Class 2-4 cleans out the school's swimming pool, Ten shows up and his annoyance together with his alien candy causes the protozoa to grow to gigantic sizes and Ataru and Mendo's relationship to develop to new levels.

Trivia[]
- This marks the return of the alien candy first used in Episode 2b, together with the first seen teacher in that same episode.
- The alien candy is used only 3 chapters later in the manga version.
- This is when the male students originally learn how Ten can be annoying, thus when their animosity is originally formed.
Differences from the manga[]
The first half until Ten crying to Lum for the Protozoa being burned is a direct adaptation of the manga; which features Hanawa and ends with Lum reviving the Protozoa by pouring water on it, meaning the pool won’t be used anytime soon, everything else mostly in the second half is completely original.
