The Flower Shop Girl is a beautiful young flower seller whom Ten feels an attraction to.

Biography[]

She spotted a shy Ten hiding behind a telephone pole in front of the shop “floating gently like a butterfly” many times, and so deduced he loves flowers. She eventually meets Ten in person when he gets Ataru to buy him a flower as an excuse to see her, and while remaining cheerful as she ignores and slaps Ataru many times, picks out a potted unbloomed gardenia for Ten. A giant talking bloomed gardenia would result in a short time from Ten and Ataru’s competition for her affection with different plans in mind and is immediately brought to her by both Ataru and Ten, much to her delightful surprise instead of horror. She gives credit to Ten by giving a pat on his head and communicates with the giant flower, praising it as a big splendid flower and answering that she cannot go out with it since she pledged herself to another flower.

Ten would return to her shop to buy flowers again for his mother for her upcoming birthday when she comes for a second visit, and she picks out carnations as a perfect choice for a birthday present since they mean “love” in flower language.

Trivia[]

  • The name of the shop she works at changes name in the 2 episodes/chapters she appears ("ぼけや" in Episode 171 (Chapter 282)).
