Differences from the Manga[]

The plot is the same and all the scenes in the manga are in the anime, with a lot of the chase and planning scenes being new (particularly anything involving Megane), although in the manga:

  • Ten, Cherry and Sakura do not appear.
  • The teacher in the sports outfit wore a Tomoe-Mark print suit in the manga (his clothes likely having been changed to be easier to animate).
  • There are only 5 joints the students mostly go to (Akamura Bakery, Neko Cafe, Shrimp Hut, Zipangu Okonomiyaki and Kotobuki Oden) as all the others mentioned were anime-exclusive.
  • Ataru flirts with the waitress at the last joint causing Lum to make him eat something spicy, which makes him come out rather than by kicking him.
    • The last joint was under Mr. Iwanami's watch in the manga (who was bound and gagged into submission) rather than Onsen-Mark's watch.
  • It’s the school’s oldest teacher who gets trampled at the end rather than the principal.
  • Far less teachers were seen in the manga.
